Orotones-Ancient Chestnut

I am interested in myths and legends – from Greek Dryads to Rincewind .

Dryads and chestnut trees are synonymous, so finding a grove of ancient chestnuts near me means I often go to visit them. These old trees have been in this woodland in the hills near me for hundreds of years. I have carried many cameras to look at them with but I am finding they need to be made as tactile carbon prints and then shown as orotones.

But the spirit in the trees is elusive, so I persuaded the essences to show them selves by using the Sabatier effect when printing, then reversing the print to a sensitise carbon tissue and printing as a carbon transfer. I printed onto glass and then made an orotone.
