I found this woodland of old chestnut trees in the hills near or home in Montblanc – some of the trees are many hundreds of years old and their great grandchildren grow in and around the old trees which are sill living, supported by generations of their life. A lesson to us all perhaps.

Along the roadway there are outcrops of minerals – I have found lumps of Baryte and hope to use this as a foundation for new varnishes an papers – the chestnut and oak trees can also give tannins I can use in my work.

I respect these trees and wish them a long life.
