There is so much to go wrong with making orotones. Each part of the complex process has multiple opportunities for a disaster so a lot of the work ends up in the dustbin.

I have often worked on a plate for several days with no success, but sometimes  I rescue a small piece from the scraps which is interesting or serendipitous.

This little plate was damaged in development, but just the face was left – so I cut a small image from the glass plate which I liked.
